Sawadeekah from Thailand! We were able to acquire with no hassle a sixty-day visa for Thailand in the Malaysian City of Kota Bharu, which literally means New City. Armed with our extended stay visa, we were off on buses, trains, vans in search of fantastic Thai food. A fellow traveler, John, told us the best food was in Krabi town. We loved the food at 89 Café so much we ate there four times in three days. Our stay at A-mansion
was perfect. The low season price of 450Baht($15usd) included the fastest internet of the last six months, clean white towels, a sparkling and shiny bathroom and a great place to relax.
Traveling by van and car ferry we arrived on the island of Koh Lanta during Green Season. During the rainy season, we were told the area would be less busy and the prices much more affordable. Together with our new friends, Johnny and Ashleigh, we wandered in the rain and discovered GoodDays Lanta Hotel
with a pool, green grass leading to the water's edge and air conditioned bungalows at reasonable prices of under $20usd. The five sunsets were each more spectacular than the preceding day (see photos above and below). I expected Johnny and George to make a song about it and someday it may appear on one of their ReverbNation Channels! Listen to George's music on ReverbNation: click here.
For the last two weeks we have been snorkeling, kayaking and tromping about Lamai Beach, Koh Samui. Our lodging is upstairs at Meedej Guest house with a large balcony directly over the sand and we can hear the waves through our two sliding glass doors. The spacious room is cooled by cross breezes and a fan and is a mere 500Baht ($17usd). We have been lucky to meet lots of friendly expats here and our new friend, Marc, took us on our first Hash (H3 or Hash House Harriers) and enjoyed the local Sunday markets.
Thank you to everyone who has shared our journey literally on the road with us or by reading and commenting on our newsletter and website! AND for watching our YouTube videos: Our channel just went OVER 80,000 views!
